Motorola Radio Management Device Programmer

Need a Bluetooth Driver for your accessory? If you are having Bluetooth trouble, updates should be available through Microsoft's Windows Update service. If drivers were not downloaded automatically by Windows Update, use Device Manager to refresh the driver from Windows Update, or contact the device manufacturer. Motorola Customer Programming Software Radio Management saves time and money by simplifying APX™ P25 radio configuration and management. Motorola Device Manager contains USB drivers and software to connect your Motorola phone or tablet to your computer using a USB cable. For certain Android-powered devices, Motorola Device Manager can also update your software.

This article was published on 23 July 2015. Like any piece of software, MOTOTRBO Radio Management is constantly evolving. So to make sure you are kept abreast of these changes, have a look at my Blog.

With MOTOTRBO™ Radio Management, you never have to travel to the customer site to make a configuration change on their radios.

Here is a short video showing how to install and configure a MOTOTRBO Radio Management Server and Device Programmer for the first time.

In this video, the Radio Management Server and Device Programmer are resident on the same machine. Both of these can be located on different (physical/virtual) machines, so long as there is IP connectivity between the two. Using the Groups in the Radio Management Server and Device Programmer, multiple systems can be managed from a single Radio Management database instance. Civ 5 mods mac.

MOTOTRBO Radio Management is a software tool that allows you to manage multiple radio configurations easily and send any configuration changes automatically over the air, or via a programming cable. To get an idea of how MOTOTRBO Radio Management works and how the UI looks, have a look at the below video.

Radio Management access the radio configuration in two ways:

  1. Via a wired connection to the radios. In this case the Device Programmer is installed at a remote office and the users would bring their radio in, connect it to the PC and the codeplug would automatically pushed.
  2. Via a wireless connection to the radios - otherwise known as OTAP. In this case, the Device Programmer uses the RF air interface to push (or pull) the radio configuration. There are two ways to achieve this: either via one or more Control Stations (essentially a MOTOTRBO radio connected to the Device programmer PC); or via MNIS (Motorola Network Interface Service) and NAI Data (essentially using the repeaters as the RF air interface - no Control Stations).

For the wireless configuration, I recommend using ARS (Automatic Registration Service) in the radios and installing DDMS (Device Discovery and Mobility Service) on the Device Programmer - without this, Radio Management would have to poll the target radios until they respond. ARS is a feature in the radios which makes them inform an application (in this case DDMS) when its turned on or off.

If a single Control Station is used, the Motorola RNDIS driver can be used. If more than one Control Station is used, then the MCDD must be installed.

If MNIS is used then the repeaters, involved in OTAP operations, will need to have the NAI Data (Network Application Interface) licence enabled.

Radio Management comes with 5 free radio licences to experiment with. If more radios are to be added, you will need one or more Radio Management licences - one licence covers 500 radios.

Radio Management allows you to push a configuration change immediately or to schedule an update for an off-peak period so that any disruption to the customer's operation is minimized.
